Hard Fought game for the Ambrose Lions

Calgary, AB – The Ambrose Lions men's volleyball team was looking for their first win of the season as they hosted the Briercrest Clippers on Saturday night. The Lions played hard and won the first two sets by a narrow margin of 25-27 (AMB) and 24-26 (AMB). The third set was another close one, but the Clippers kept the match alive by taking it 25-23 (BC). Briercrest continued to build on their momentum and won the fourth (25-18 BC) and fifth (15-10 BC) sets each in a decisive manner, leading to their second win in as many days.

Briercrest had some excellent play from their outside hitter Karym Coleman (#11), who ended the game with an astounding 26 kills, 5 digs, and 3 blocks. Briercrest's libero, Brady Watchel (#2) was awarded the Player of the Game honour for the Clippers for his all-around match and his team high 8 digs. One standout performer for the Lions tonight was Emmitt Juul-Hansen (#9), their setter. He had himself an excellent match, finishing will 46 assists. The Lions' outside hitter, Kade Miller (#13), was named Player of the Game for Ambrose because of his impressive outing which resulted in him earning 15 kills, and 7 blocks.

Briercrest has next week off to prepare to host the SAIT Trojans on Friday, Nov. 26 who the Lions host this coming Friday the 19th.
