After a long year and a half, the women's ACAC Soccer season kicked off on Friday, September 17th as the Ambrose Lions took on the Olds College Broncos.
The first half was even 0-0, with a late goal in the 32nd minute by Broncos #9, Felicia Rodney. Assisted by #10 Jane Morris, to make the score 0-1 for the Broncos going into the second half.
Tiona Paton made her debut by attempting 5 shots on net.
Both goalies protected their team's nets with Lions #16 Olivia Awe making 3 incredible saves, along with the Broncos #35 Reona Marrow making 2.
Special performances were noted by each team by awarding #11 Kami Tams, with her incredible defense and skill as player of the game for the Broncos, and the lightning fast # 15, Makenna Mendes for the Lions.
Final score: 0-1 for the Broncos.
Both teams look forward to their next matches as the Lion's team Play SAIT the same weekend and the Olds College Broncos travel to Lethbridge to take on the Kodiaks.
