JANUARY 2023

Kole has consistently improved and helped the women's basketball team succeed this year. Her minutes per game have steadily increased to averaging over 30 for the month of January. Along with more court time, Kole has been rock solid on defense, often guarding the opponents stronger players. She is reliable on the court which is demonstrated with the best assist to turnover ratio on the team. Kole also has hit some really big shots this month, none less important than a big 3 pointer with the shot clock running down in an overtime win against Lethbridge College. Kole is currently in her first year in the Psychology program at Ambrose, and is a high achieving student that excels in the classroom.

During this month, Josh has been able to take the lead and stand out when the team needed it the most. He showed great capacity to lead the group, bring all his experience and great all-around volleyball skills to the court. He excelled in passing, serving and attacking. He also helped to keep calm and focus during games. Josh has been a key member on the team as we worked to get back on track in this second semester, and to be ready for the playoffs. Now in his senior year, Josh is truly foundational in being part of the team's pursuit for excellence. We will be sad to see him go when he graduates, but happy to have had him with us!

NOVEMBER 2022

Makenna continues to lead the women's basketball program at Ambrose. Not only has the team become the most successful for ambrose WBB in terms of wins in ACAC history, they are also preparing for a strong playoff run in the new year. Makenna is playing 27 minutes a game and has steadily improved her points per game to 7.3 while running the high powered Ambrose offense. Makenna is also leading the ACAC in 3 point field goal % with an amazing 46.7%. Along with the offensive prowess, Makenna is also the anchor to a solid Ambrose defense where she consistently disrupts opponents. She also leads with her work ethic and dedication to the team. As the captain, she has been able to not only lead the team on the court, but demonstrates academic excellence as an academic all Canadian last year.

Mateja Vucic has had a great rookie season so far in the ACAC for Ambrose. He is second on the team in minutes played and leads the team in rebounds per game. Mateja has started all 10 games and played 3 different positions on the court: power forward, center, and point guard. His wide range of skills has contributed to a strong start for the men's basketball team. Mateja has also improved immensely throughout the fall. He has transitioned from Serbia very well is adapting to the Canadian style of play. Mateja will be an important member of the Ambrose men's basketball team as they look to make a strong playoff push here on campus for the Playoffs in March.

OCTOBER 2022

Gracee has had a strong month. Starting the year off where she ended last year by being the Team Leader with 15 Stuff Blocks along with 30 kills and 10 Service Aces. Gracee is not only a strong competitor, she is a high achiever in the classroom. Gracee was a CCAA recipient for Academic achievement last year and is well on her way at duplicating those standards she has set out.

This month, Matt has shown what a great team player he is! He is always ready to help the team in whatever is necessary and has shown great sporting capacity in his different skills, excelling in defense, reception and attack. In addition, he always pushes the team in training, demanding we all give our maximum. Matt has been a key member of the team in getting the wins we have had, coming off the bench when necessary, and always raising the level of the team higher.
