Trojans Secure Victory over Lions

Calgary, AB – The Ambrose Lions Men's Basketball team played their first home game of the season on Saturday afternoon but could not pull out the victory against the SAIT Trojans. The Lions started strong, leading the game by 6 points after the first quarter, but the Trojans dominated the game from then on to win the game 96-82.

The Trojans had a great game with five players scoring points in the double digits, led by Charlie Conner (#1) who scored 20 points, adding on 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The reserve players for the Trojans were very impressive, collectively adding 31 points. The Lions got a great game out of Isaac Gray (#10) who scored a game-high 24 points as well as 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Player of the Game honours for the Lions was given to Isaac Amsing (#14) who scored 21 points as well as earning 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. The Player of the Game for the Trojans was awarded to Filip Ivanovic (#7) who came off the bench and scored 10 points and earned 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

The Ambrose Lions will look forward to their next game against St. Mary's next Friday night, in hopes of a better result. The SAIT Trojans next game is against the Briercrest Clippers next Friday.
