Lions Win on the Road in Camrose

The Lions women's basketball team comes out on top while on the road in Camrose where they took on the Augustana Vikings, beating them by 7 points in a 60-53 victory.

The first quarter put the Vikings in the lead 14-10 over the lions. The lions came back in the second quarter by scoring 13 to the Vikings 7, making it a tight game at half with the lions leading 23-21 over the vikings. #9 Nya Gach was a force on the floor for the lions and dominated the boards on the offensive end with 6 pivotal offensive rebounds to give the lions more second chances in the paint. She had 7 points, 2 steal and 2 blocks and that were crucial to the lions win! After a tight third quarter,  Andrijana Bokan came out in the fourth quarter with a stellar performance and contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds to square away the win. The lions took the victory over the vikings, 60-53.

This road win was definitely a team effort multiple players had a couple steals including, #5 Makenna Graham, #4 Marin Barkey, #8 Andrijana Bokan and #9 Nya Gach. Coming off the bench was #10 Ariana Dela Paz who had 2 assists and 12 points and was 100% from the free throw line, which added to the teams success. 

With this win in their pocket the lions are 2-4. The are looking ahead to their bye weekend this coming weekend, and will play Keyano and Lakeland Saturday, November 17th and 18th.
