Athletics Events and Sports Information Coordinator

The Athletics Events and Sports Information Coordinator will coordinate Athletic events and sports information along with other administrative and supportive duties in the Athletics department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise Varsity Athletic events.
  • Ensure sports information is up to date on website, social media, and in print.
  • Lead all aspects of game day operations. This includes set-up and take-down, game day table, equipment, and statistical operations, ACACTV Live Streaming, crowd-management, visiting team/official hospitality, ACAC correspondence (e.g., Conflink 1.0, etc.), and mid-game promotional activities.
  • Lead special events (e.g., Awards Gala, Athlete Welcome Week, Senior Night, ID camps, hosting Championships, etc.).
  • Lead Athletics sports information initiatives.
  • Promote the Lions brands through social media, website, and print.
  • Hire, train, and supervise game day staff to ensure that weekly game day duties are completed.
  • Work with campus recreation staff on campus recreation programs.
  • Point person for the activity clubs.
  • Involved in and attend Student Life and ACAC committee meetings and activities.
  • Assist the Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation to lead the Student Athlete Leadership Team.
  • Administrative tasks. This includes interdepartmental communication, ACAC correspondence, creating schedules, tracking budget numbers, etc.
 
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • At a minimum a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the areas of Sports Management, Physical Education or Kinesiology, Sports Ministry, or Business.
  • Administrative experience in an athletic management setting is an asset.
  • Technology knowledge required to run ACACTV, Game Day and sound equipment, scoreclocks, etc. is an asset.

Skills

  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of basic database administration and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop professional relationships in both academic and public sectors.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Able to write in a variety of formats for news and feature stories, program brochures, etc.
  • Organized and able to prioritize.
  • Good work habits and a sound work ethic.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to delivery.
  • Able to manage large public events.
  • Able to work within demanding time and budget parameters.

Personal Characteristics

  • Be in agreement with Ambrose’s values, mission, vision, and statements of faith.
  • Must have a quality of spirit that will be reflected in a growing relationship with God and interpersonal relationships.

Other

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
 Additional Information
  • A compensation package commensurate with education and experience is available.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background criminal check.
