Athletes of the Week - November 13, 2024

Audrey Dayrit, the third year Behavioural Science Major, hit the game winning shot for Ambrose on Friday night against the Keyano College Huskies. This makred an incredible moment in the Ambrose Women's Basketball program as they come together under a new head coach for the 2024-25 season. Dayrit's play was consistent all weekend and strong against two tough competitors, one being the reigning national champion.

Her 5'3 frame was able to grab two rebounds a game and add two steals to her stat sheet on Saturday night. The guard never stopped fighting and kept the teams head up. Her great leadership and court presence were nothing short of a necessity this weekend, and her drive earned her player of the game on November 9th.

Jarom Walton - MBB

Jarom Walton has been a force since the freshman joined the Ambrose Lions' this season. His 6'5 frame has been a much needed addition to the squad and he demonstrated his ability this weekend, having two solid games.

Walton consistently put himself in good position under the rim to keep the Lions competitive all weekend, with a collective 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and six steals. His performance earned him player of the game on Saturday November 9 against the Lakeland Rustlers.

The Ambrose Lion's have a one game weekend ahead, hosting the NAIT Ooks in the Lions' Den on November 15 after a triumphant WBB win over the Keyano College Huskies on November 8. The Lions continue to define themselves early in this season.
