Female Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to our female athlete of the week!

Rachel Barg - WVB

Amassing over 45 assists and 11 digs, Rachel Barg led her team in a hard fought battle against the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. The setter commanded the court and ran the Lions offense effectively, creating every opportunity for her team when she could. The fouth year Calgary native also finds herself in the top five for assists in Ambrose history, looking to overtake fourth position before the end of this year.

Lions Volleyball come home for their final weekend of games for the semester after a month long road trip around Alberta. They will face The King's University Eagles Friday evening and see the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves for their last game on Saturday.

Male Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to our male athlete of the week!

David Mubagwa - MVB

Friday evening saw a new David Mubagwa in the Lions Den! The third year forward was a textbook two-way player against the Augustana Vikings, leading his team offensively with 17 points, and being a force on defence grabbing eight rebounds and a steal.

It was his best game of the season, keeping his energy and motivation high while hitting buzzer-beaters and clutch shots on multiple occasions while lock-down defending one of the best inside players in the ACAC.

Mubagwa rightfully earned himself Player of the Game as a notable game changer, leader, competitor, and talented ball player.

With just one weekend of games remaining in the fall semester, the Ambrose Lions' Men's Basketball Team is taking a trip north to face the TKU Eagles and the NWP Wolves. After their first win of the regular season against the UAA Vikings, the Lions are looking to bring their newfound confidence to the floor.
