Final Home Game Loss for the Ambrose Lions

Final Home Game Loss for the Ambrose Lions

The Lethbridge Kodiaks earned an impressive road victory over the Ambrose Lions this Sunday afternoon on the Lions home field. The Kodiaks opened the scoring early and didn't look back, going on to win the game by a final score of 6-0.

It took only 3 minutes for the Kodiaks to get on the board with a goal scored by Olivia DePasquale (#22) off a corner kick. Jayna Timinski (#15) crossed the ball from the corner and DePasquale scored with a header to get the early lead. Two more goals followed for the Kodiaks in the first half to give them the 3-0 lead. Despite their best efforts, the Ambrose Lions could not manage to score in either the first or second half.

Lethbridge's Olivia DePasquale (#22) was not finished after her early goal as she finished the match with a fantastic total of two goals and two assists.

While Kara Kamai (#1), the Kodiak's Keeper was not particularly busy, saving the shot sole shot that the Lions put on net, the Goalkeeper for the Lions, Olivia Awe (#16), was much busier. She matched her jersey number, making 16 saves in the losing effort.

After a solid all-around performance, Kate Siemens (#4) took home the Player of the Game honours for the Ambrose Lions. Leading her team to the win with a well-rounded game on both ends, Krista Van Dieman was chosen as the Player of the Game for the Lethbridge Kodiaks.

Next Saturday the Lions head to Camrose to face off with the UAA Vikings, and then the Kodiaks will host the Vikings in a game next Sunday.
