Calgary, AB- The Ambrose Lion's women's volleyball team opened their season on Friday night, hosting the Briercrest Clippers in their home opener. The Lions team faught hard in their opening match, but unfortunatley fell short with a 3-1 loss. Briercrest stayed strong throughout the match and showed drive and determination to bring home the win.
Both teams had some impeccable rally's happening and strong performances coming from both sides of the net. The Briercrest women's team had some great play happening with #11, Julia Beer ended the night with 16 kills and 7 digs and #12, Faith Buhler not far behind, with 13 kills. The Lions had soem strong play coming form #6, Maddy Williscroft with 19 stellar kills, 3 blocks and 2 digs. The hitting form the ambrose team was well distributed with 4 players finishing with 5 kills each.
The players of the game were #6, Williscroft from Ambrose and #11, Beer from Briercrest.
The teams looks forward to playing each other tomorrow, during the afternoon.
